A teenager with a toy gun was shot and killed Sunday night in Philadelphia after he allegedly tried to rob a man who was carrying a loaded gun.
According to FOX 29 in Philadelphia, police say a 16-year-old boy and another suspect approached a man and his girlfriend in the 2200 block of Emerald Street around 11 p.m. Sunday.
One of the suspects allegedly held a weapon against the man's back and demanded his keys, wallet and other valuables.
Unbeknownst to the suspects, the robber had a legal gun and fired a gun at the two suspects, striking a 16-year-old boy in the leg, police said.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the weapon used by the boy was a toy gun, which was recovered at the scene.
Philadelphia Police Department Lt. DF Pace told the police department, “If the victim had been pressed against his back, there's no way he would have known that.''

The station reported that the victim was not injured, but a teenage boy who was shot in the leg was taken to an area hospital for treatment while in police custody.
