Toyota commits $10 billion to new car factories in the US

TOKYO — President Trump revealed that Toyota plans to invest $10 billion in new manufacturing plants within the United States during a speech to the crew of the USS George Washington in Tokyo Bay.

In his address, which emphasized trade and economic agreements during his trilateral tour, Trump mentioned that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi informed him that major auto companies would be investing in U.S. manufacturing.

“I heard from the prime minister that Toyota is going to build $10 billion in car factories across the United States. So, that’s Toyota. So buy Toyota,” Trump said aboard the impressive nuclear-powered vessel.

On the previous day, he praised Takaichi for purchasing a Ford F-150 for official duties. The prime minister, who was present, took the stage for a speech while Trump warmly placed his arm around him.

The speech offered a broad discussion on Trump’s foreign policy and his unconventional military strategies aimed at tackling crime, drug trafficking, and illegal immigration.

Trump asserted that foreign leaders now show respect toward the U.S. unlike in previous years.

He also took a jab at former President Biden, suggesting he misrepresented his capabilities. “[Former President] Biden told whoever came along that he was a pilot, he was a truck driver, whatever, but he wasn’t a pilot. He wasn’t very presidential either, to be honest with you,” Trump remarked.

Continuing, Trump highlighted his recent two-month initiative to send troops to the U.S.-Mexico border to address the ongoing immigration crisis, deploy the National Guard to cities facing violent crime, and target suspected drug smuggling operations at sea.

“On my first day back in the White House, we sent American troops to stop the invasion of our southern border,” he emphasized, describing the current situation at the border as “as tough as a drum.”

He reiterated his earlier threat to deploy troops to Chicago to manage rampant violence.

“No city should have a problem. And we’re sending in the National Guard. If we need more than the National Guard, we’ll send in more because we’ll have a safer city,” he stated. “We’re not going to kill people in our cities. That’s what we’re doing, whether people like it or not.”

Trump detailed the military’s effectiveness against drug cartels, mentioning operations off the coasts of Venezuela and Colombia, which he claimed have resulted in significant casualties among cartel members.

“For years, the drug cartels have been waging war against the United States, and finally, we are waging war against the drug cartels,” he asserted, adding, “Now we can stop the flow of drugs overland. It’s that simple.”

He also commented humorously on his candidacy for a Nobel Peace Prize, suggesting his remarks might jeopardize those chances, despite being nominated by Takaichi.

“Nobody builds equipment like we do…and if we do, American sailors are ready to crush it, sink it, destroy it, blow it into oblivion, right?” he concluded, receiving enthusiastic applause.

Trump remarked, “Everyone said I should win the Nobel Peace Prize right away. That comment disqualified me from being nominated.”
