Former Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney formally endorsed Vice President Harris in the Oval Office last week, leaving the Republican Party to run on the Democratic ticket in the key battleground state of Wisconsin.
Fox News Digital traveled to Casper, Wyoming over the weekend to talk to voters about their thoughts on the upcoming election and Cheney's decision to ignore the Republican presidential nominee this term in favor of Harris. Voters in the Cowboy State overwhelmingly recommended supporting Cheney, with some slamming her as a “traitor” and “traitor.”
“I'm not impressed by that at all,” Clark Johnson told Fox News Digital when asked about her thoughts on Cheney, who campaigned with Harris in Wisconsin last week.
“I think it's ridiculous. I think she's a traitor to the country,” Gunner Berg, also from Wyoming, said of the campaign.

Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, has been a vocal critic of former President Trump, putting her at odds with Republicans and former voters who overwhelmingly supported Trump in the 2016 and 2020 elections. . Wyoming is expected to vote red again this election.
The majority of voters Casper spoke to on Fox Digital said they were not fans of Cheney and were unlikely to run for office in Wyoming again because of her politics.
“I've never been a fan, and I'm sure the tables have turned over there,” Dillon Sigman said, adding that he doesn't believe Cheney can run again in Wyoming.

“I support her decision to campaign for whoever she chooses, but I don't think she represents the people of Wyoming,” Alicia Kelch told Fox Digital. “The majority of people I know do not support Kamala Harris or her campaign.”

Kelch said Cheney is unlikely to be re-elected in Wyoming if she pursues such a path, noting that many who voted for her in the first place “wanted her to be president and not hold her true identity.” “Once I realized what his intentions were, I gave up,” he added. ”

In an interview, Chuck Kucera added that Cheney is a “traitor” and quipped that Harris' campaign events are “probably a good place for her.”
John Shelton said there is “no way” Cheney could run again in Wyoming and that he would not vote for her “even if she is the last person on the ballot.”
One Wyoming resident told Fox Digital that Cheney teaming up with Harris is not a “nuisance” and doesn't see it as a problem, but added, “Most Wyoming residents support Cheney with Harris. I did not agree to do so.”

Two Wyoming residents told FOX News Digital they support the Cheney-Harris teaming up, with Jennifer Dillinger calling it “really great.”

“It's amazing that you have someone who is extremely conservative and a lifelong Republican who is not particular about a particular party and supports the Constitution and the country,” Dellinger said, adding that Cheney is a key figure in Wyoming politics.
