Transgender Gunman Involved in Shooting at Hockey Game

A transgender individual named Robert Dorgan, who identified as “Roberta,” is the suspect in the shooting that left two family members dead during a high school hockey game on Monday. Dorgan possessed two handguns, specifically a Glock 10mm and a SIG Sauer P226, both acquired legally. Additionally, Dorgan held a concealed carry permit from Florida.

Interestingly, research indicates that many mass shooters in the past two decades have acquired their firearms through background checks. In fact, a report highlighted numerous high-profile shooters who successfully passed these checks before their attacks.

Here’s a brief overview of some known or alleged attackers who obtained their firearms legally:

It does seem curious that one of the common calls for action following mass shootings is for stricter background checks—especially given that many shooters have navigated this system successfully. It raises questions about the effectiveness of these measures, doesn’t it?
