“Men are men. And women are women. And men cannot be women,” Johnson declared. “But we also believe in treating everyone with dignity.”

Mace, who declared in X magazine that “trans women are still men,” announced a bill that would require only those who match their biological sex to enter single-sex facilities on federal land.

The proposal makes exceptions for health care workers responding to emergencies and law enforcement officers tracking and investigating suspects.

“Oh, you thought you could intimidate me into silence? That's not the case. I'm taking a leap of faith and introducing new legislation to protect women and girls across the country on all federal lands, everywhere.” Mace declared in a post to X.
