Americans lacking a proper ID will still be permitted to fly after the May 7 deadline, although they should expect extra screenings and potential delays at airports.
This announcement was made by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem during a House Budget Committee hearing on Tuesday.
“People will be allowed to fly,” Noem stated to lawmakers. “We’ll ensure it’s as seamless as possible.”
