Travis Barker fears flying after slightly surviving the fatal plane crash crash more than 16 years ago.
In September 2008, Barker and his collaborator Adam “DJ Am” Goldstein were flying a private lead jet that crashed in Columbia, South Carolina after a fire. Barker and Goldstein were the only survivors of six on the aircraft.
The musician, who was seriously injured in the incident, fought PTSD and flew by plane for the first time since the 2021 crash, initially vowed to never board the plane again.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Barker said he was hesitant about this weekend's trip to New Orleans when he hosted a Runtravis Run event on Friday ahead of his performance at the Fanduel X Spotify Super Bowl Party. “It doesn't actually help me get through it, it makes it even worse,” he admitted. “I hardly came.”
“It's difficult to ride a flight,” he continued. “I'm calming down on it. I don't need to take anything. I don't need to do anything, but it gets more and more difficult.
“When you tell yourself, These things never happen. These things never happen. And these days, it feels like we're watching almost every day. ”
On January 29, a US Army Black Hawk helicopter collided with an American Airlines commercial airliner on the Potomac River as it was preparing to land on the broadcasting station at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Virginia. . All 67 people were killed in the collision, including 64 people on the plane and three on the helicopter.

The disaster marked the first major conflict involving US passenger aircraft since 2009. It was also the deadliest crash since the American Airlines international passenger plane plunged into its Queens, New York neighborhood.
“It gets harder and harder, especially when you start to see your biggest fear come back to life.”
Just two days later, a medical jet crashed into a Philadelphia neighborhood, with all six on board, including a young girl and her mother.
After the crash in 2008, Barker suffered serious burns all over his body. He spent 11 weeks in the hospital and his recovery included 16 surgeries and numerous skin grafts. Barker believes in crashing by helping him overcome his addiction to painkillers. Goldstein suffered severe second and third degree burns to his arm and scalp; A year later, he died from a drug overdose.

In August 2021, Barker made his first flight since the tragedy, with his trip to the then girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian, mother Kris Jenner, Kabo, the boyfriend of the Kardashian family's Matriark, and Cabo, Mexico. Joined Kylie Jenner's private jet.
Barker and Courtney tied the knot in May 2022 after a year's date. In November 2023, the couple welcomed their first child together, son Barker of Rocky 13. While talking to Fox News Digital at the Run Travis Run event, Barker spits out about raising Rocky, noting that his boys are following in the footsteps of his music.

“Baby Rocky is amazing,” he said. “Drums, guitar, walking, running everywhere, he's the best. He's the coolest kid ever.”
The Grammy nominee also focused on the challenges and rewards of being a one-year-old father.
“I don't think there's anything to challenge about that,” he said. “The most rewarding thing is to start my day and finish my day with my baby – the best with all my kids. Night.”

Barker also shared the secret of her successful marriage with Courtney.
“I think it's a big deal to work together,” he said. “I think dating nights are great, and I don't think I'd be asked anything more just to be with someone like your best friend.”
Barker recently took to the stage to perform with country star Jelly Roll at the star-studded Fireaid Mega Concert. Last month, many fires devastated several different parts of the county, killing 29 people and destroying nearly 17,000 structures.
In addition to being part of the lineup at the Fireaid concert, Barker uses the Run Travis Run event to help with the aftermath of the fire. According to a press release for the event, all proceeds have been donated to the LAFD Foundation and the anti-recidivism coalition to support incarcerated firefighters who fought Inferno.

“I think I'm fine,” the hitmaker told Fox News Digital that he, his family and their home were “safe” during the fire. Ta.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Barker reflected on how he became a runner.

However, Barker admitted that he suffered several injuries during his training.
“I've actually been hurt a few times,” he said. “So, like running, I think I trained a bit after the last 5k. I tried to beat a record that was 5k in 20, but it wasn't and then I went to myself. I got off. I got difficult for myself, and I hurt my lower back for three miles, saying, “I can run six miles a day.” ”
“So I think I'm running like a week and a half now. But yeah, I'm going to stay on an assault bike during that time and during boxing.”
Despite being injured, Barker said he was determined to continue running.
“I'll try this again whether I'm in the park with a lot of people or if I'm solo or not. I run 3-5 miles a day.”
