Travis Decker’s Escalating Behavior Before Alleged Murders

Recent court documents reveal that Travis Decker showed signs of severe distress in the weeks leading up to the tragic deaths of three young girls, allegedly at his hands.

According to these documents, Decker’s ex-wife, Whitney, described him as a “broken” man rather than a cold-blooded killer. Yet her growing concern prompted her to file for a protection order against him. She noted, “It seemed he was getting better, but everything started to spiral out of control.” This suggests some troubling changes were occurring in his behavior.

At work, colleagues reportedly bullied him, leading to feelings of isolation. Concern for his mental health escalated when his boss reached out to Whitney, expressing alarm over Decker’s declining state. “The supervisor mentioned that he had spoken to Travis and feared he was on the edge of something extreme,” Whitney recounted in her petition.

About a month before the incident, Decker abruptly stopped attending daily counseling calls with a pastor, which might have contributed to his downward spiral.

A week before the tragic event, he was involved in a car accident that appeared to worsen his already troubling behavior. Following this, he alarmingly returned home, expressing remorse but also making ominous claims about impending imprisonment.

Amidst this turmoil, Decker attempted to mend relationships with his brother and father and even sought to reconnect with Whitney. However, Whitney stated, “Last week he tried to reconcile our marriage and brought up his daughters, but I felt like there was no progress.”

Tragically, Decker is accused of killing his daughters—Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia—during a court-sanctioned visit. Their bodies were found on June 2, with plastic bags over their heads and their wrists bound, near their father’s abandoned truck at a remote campsite.

Preliminary investigations indicate the sisters may have died from asphyxiation.

As of Saturday, Decker remains at large, prompting an extensive manhunt involving over 100 law enforcement agents. Reports suggest he searched for information about relocating to Canada prior to the horrific events. Authorities have warned the public not to approach him and are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
