Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN football analyst Dan Orlovsky offered his thoughts on whether Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce could retire sooner or later.
Kelce, 35, recently completed his 12th season in the league. He finished the regular season with 823 receiving yards, marking the second straight year the star tight end fell short of the 1,000-yard receiving mark.
Kelce certainly earned Pro Bowl honors 10 years in a row and is still a good player, but he's certainly closer to the end of his football career than the beginning. All of this comes as the Chiefs seek an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl championship. If the Chiefs end up hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy next month, Orlovsky said it could be a “very real thing” for the seven-time All-Pro to call it quits. is thinking.

“Kelce is very capable of making a difference. I think he still has some great runs left.” Orlovsky said on ESPN's long-running daytime show “First Take.”

“If he goes away and performs like that vintage Kelce, I totally think, one, he’s capable of it, two, he can do it, and If they continue their three-peat, I think retirement becomes very real for Travis Kelce.”
“There's nothing else to accomplish. He's definitely going to be the best tight end of all time. He's going to be the tight end that was a part of the world.” [Chiefs] The only three-peat in NFL history. He's obviously in the latter half of his career. I don't think there will be anything left. And I think he has that elite, great, difference-making, vintage, 'Oh my god, here we go again' memory. ”
Kelce countered a question about when he would make the decision to end his NFL career. Recently appeared in “Stephen A. Smith Show,'' He admitted that his thoughts on retirement tend to waver, but he plans to “re-evaluate'' things once the offseason begins.

“I love everything I do…but at the end of the day, you don't have that much success on the field,” Kelce said. “I'm excited for the next few games to finish off this season. As always, we'll re-evaluate. [and] I'll probably just tell myself how much I love this thing and plan on coming back next year. ”

The NFL veteran added that pop star Taylor Swift continues to offer her full support regarding his playing career. “She totally encourages me to enjoy this game,” Kelce told Smith.

“I had all the support in the world to keep pursuing my dream,” the three-time Super Bowl champion said, before adding, “I’m excited to come to the game to watch him and the Chiefs play.” I love it,'' he said.
