Travis Kelce shares he feels 'scared' for his dad to hear Taylor Swift's bold 'Wood' song

Travis Kelsey Worries About Father’s Reaction to Taylor Swift’s Song

Travis Kelsey has expressed feeling “terrified” about his father, Ed Kelsey, listening to Taylor Swift’s suggestive track “The Life of a Showgirl” that touches on themes related to “Wood.”

On the recent episode of the podcast “New Heights,” his brother Jason Kelce humorously proposed that they should play the album for their dad.

“I’m scared,” the Kansas City Chiefs player said, trying to keep a straight face.

“We should get Papa Kelce to hear ‘Wood’ live and see how he reacts,” Jason, 37, playfully suggested, adding that he’d enjoy doing it whether or not it’s filmed.

Travis couldn’t help but laugh as Jason insisted, “I just do it.”

In another part of the episode, Jason jokingly asked if Travis had any views on the infamous truck. “’Wood.’ Great, great soundtrack,” the retired Eagles player laughed, while Travis agreed, also chuckling. “It’s a great song.”

Later on, Jason jokingly wondered if his enthusiasm over “Wood” made him sound insecure or cocky, to which Travis replied, “No, every song she references me is fantastic… I love that girl; what are you talking about?”

Jason chimed in, clarifying that the track wasn’t about Travis himself but rather his “appendages.”

“What? You must be misunderstanding the song. No way!” Travis teased back.

The song features some bold references to Travis and Taylor’s intimate life, with lines like, “Forgive me, that sounds sassy/ He matized me (ah!)/ And opened my eyes…It ain’t hard to see/ His love was the key/ That opened my thighs.”

Recently, during a chat on SiriusXM’s “Morning Mash Up,” Taylor mentioned that the song is open to different interpretations, revealing her mom, Andrea Swift, thinks it’s about “superstition.”
