Travis Kelce slams AJ Brown for his outburst during the Eagles' perfect start.

Eagles’ AJ Brown Expresses Frustration Over Limited Role

AJ Brown, the standout receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, has managed just one touchdown reception over the first four games of this season. Surprisingly, despite his individual statistics not being so impressive, the Eagles remain one of only two unbeaten teams in the NFL as they head into week five.

It seems Brown is feeling the weight of his limited involvement in the offense. After the Eagles secured a win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his frustration peaked when he finished the game with only seven receiving yards from two catches.

In a subtle yet pointed social media post, he hinted at his discontent, saying, “Don’t make a scene. Shrug, I’m on the way.”

Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs had some thoughts on Brown’s approach to expressing his feelings. “You’re 4-0, boss. Come on, man,” he commented during a recent episode of the “New Heights” podcast.

Jason Kelce, co-host of the podcast and former Eagles offensive lineman, defended Brown’s right to be upset. “I think he should be frustrated about not being utilized more in this offense,” he said. “That’s a reasonable feeling, and he should express it to his teammates and coaches directly. It’s not selfish; it’s just being honest.”

Later on, Jason did ponder whether there might have been better ways to address his frustrations, acknowledging the power of social media in such situations.

Travis went on to share that he understands where Brown is coming from, highlighting the challenges of airing frustrations publicly while still achieving success as a team. “It’s tough to stay mad when we’re winning. If we’re putting points on the board and winning games, I don’t see where that frustration comes from—at least not outwardly,” he mentioned.

In addressing his earlier social media post, Brown reflected on his emotions. “Honestly, I was boiling with frustration after the game. I didn’t speak to the media immediately because I needed to process my feelings first,” he admitted.

He clarified that his social media message wasn’t aimed at anyone specific within the Eagles organization. “It wasn’t directed at any coach, player, or GM. I take full responsibility for how I feel, and there’s open communication with the coaching staff,” he explained.

Eagles coach Nick Sirianni assured that there are no concerns regarding Brown’s commitment to the team. “I know he wants to play well and be a good teammate. He’s fully invested in being here,” Sirianni stated.

For the season, Brown has recorded five catches for 27 yards against the Chiefs and was only targeted once in the Eagles’ opening game against the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles recognized his talent by signing him to a three-year contract extension before the 2024 season. They are set to host the Denver Broncos this Sunday, looking to maintain their unbeaten streak.
