Travis Kelce's Super Bowl 2025 game tape was not the most beautiful.
The Star Chiefs tight end finished with just four catches for 39 yards on a 40-22 blowout loss to the Eagles in Kansas City, but an even more uglier performance was revealed in eye tests.
In the middle of the second quarter, the Chiefs were already down 10-0, with Kelse matching across the street from Josh Sweatt, a star pass rusher.
Unknown for his blocking skills, Kelse has been sweating past him, plundering quarterback Patrick Mahomes with consecutive plays, effectively ending Kansas City's chances of reducing the deficit on a drive. I've been relieved.
And it wasn't just Kelce's block that seemed like a low effort.
In the third quarter when the Chiefs went 27-0, Mahomes was pressured by the second and fourth, scrambled out of pocket while searching for the open man's downfield.
Instead of opening, Kelse appeared to be giving up the play, standing near the midfield as Mahomes crossed the line of scrimmage in pursuit of the first down.
Mahomes is eventually attacked by Oren Burks, who was standing next to the immobilized Kels during play, and is then fumbled, but is later called back to keep the Chiefs.
It is possible that Kelse saw the flag and knew the play was coming back.
There has been a lot of talk about whether Kelce, 35, will retire this offseason after 12 seasons in the NFL.
In an episode of his latest “New Heights” podcast with his brother Jason, the future Hall of Fame spoke about “wear and tears” that his body is suffering on the football field, but in some way he was in his decision to quit. I didn't commit.

“It takes me a little time to figure it out,” he said. “I think I think my teammates would think if I came back that would be something, and it was a heartfelt decision.
Kelse had a career low of 823 yards and three touchdowns this season.
