New Royal Caribbean Treehouse Suites Spark Online Buzz

Vacationers looking to combine the tranquility of nature with luxury can look forward to Royal Caribbean’s new Treehouse Suites. However, these accommodations come with a hefty price tag—potentially hitting six figures. There’s already quite a bit of conversation brewing on social media about this unique offering.

The latest ships, dubbed “Hero of the Seas,” feature “Ultimate Family Tree House” suites that include private whirlpool baths, game rooms, and even rooftop terraces. According to Royal Caribbean’s website, these expansive, three-deck suites include four full bathrooms and can accommodate up to 12 guests.

On the company’s blog, it’s noted that a week-long stay in one of these treehouses could exceed $200,000, which has sparked some debate in the “r/royalcaribbean” forum on Reddit about the pricing.

One user expressed disbelief, stating, “Shocking. I feel like people with this much money would charter a yacht instead of doing this.” Another chimed in, remarking, “This is obviously not intended for 99.99% of cruisers.”

A different user pondered aloud about how often these suites might go unoccupied, asking, “What’s the break-even point for providing better service versus leaving it empty for a whole voyage?”

Discussions on Reddit reveal mixed reactions. Some have called the pricing “absolutely bananas,” suggesting that luxury travel increasingly caters to the affluent. One individual said, “If I had the money, that would be fine. But I want to travel the world for that price.” In contrast, another person commented that they’d prefer to invest in an actual house instead.

Interestingly, a commenter defended the pricing, stating, “I think it’s fair. If I could, I might book this on a yacht, especially for family vacations. It could be a great bucket-list experience.”

According to AAA, around 21.7 million Americans are projected to take ocean cruises this year. Stewart Chiron, a Miami-based cruise industry expert known as “The Cruise Guy,” indicated that the cruising sector continues to grow in popularity. He remarked, “Cruise companies are always pushing the boundaries of ship design to spark interest in cruising.”

Chiron also mentioned that Royal Caribbean’s innovative treehouse concept will likely remain a hot topic for the foreseeable future, leaving many curious about what will come next.
