Trey Gowdy Releases Fiction Debut “The Color of Death”
Fox News host Trey Gowdy has officially announced her debut novel, a psychological crime thriller titled “The Color of Death,” which was released on Tuesday.
Collaborating with bestselling author Christopher Greyson, Gowdy’s first fiction piece aims to immerse readers into the psychological dynamics between a murderer and a district attorney. The narrative offers a unique perspective on the emotional toll faced by those seeking justice.
Reflecting on her experiences as a prosecutor, Gowdy emphasized that successful advocates not only present cases but also endure the pain and loss of victims. She describes her book as an unconventional lens through which the pursuit of justice is explored, going beyond just the verdict.
The story centers around Assistant Colm Truthdale, who, grappling with his own trauma after losing his wife and daughter, is drawn back to a murder investigation involving a young hair salon owner. As the evidence dwindles and the investigation deepens, Truthdale finds himself entangled in a web of deceit that involves a powerful judge and his family.
When discussing the book on “Fox & Friends,” Gowdy mentioned that she aimed to connect readers directly to the intricacies of a murder indictment, inviting them to experience the journey from crime to sentencing alongside the prosecutor.
“I lived it,” she reflected, alluding to her nearly two decades of service in law, where she handled a multitude of criminal cases, including several death penalty trials.
This release marks the 16th title in the Fox News Books collection, which has sold over 3 million copies since 2020. Notably, Greyson is an acclaimed author, recognized for his significant contributions to the mystery and thriller genres.
