Trey Yesavage's girlfriend shares heartfelt message about the World Series following Blue Jays' impressive performance.

On Wednesday, Taylor Flick watched her boyfriend, Trey Yesavage, as he delivered an incredible performance in Game 5, helping the Blue Jays secure a 6-1 victory over the Dodgers. This win positioned Toronto just one game away from clinching the World Series title.

The 22-year-old rookie, who debuted in the MLB only in September, made history by becoming the first player to achieve 12 strikeouts without allowing a walk in a World Series game.

Flick shared her emotions on Instagram, posting, “Still crying,” accompanied by her excitement over the event.

She expressed her thrill further, stating, “Best day ever!”

Flick, 23, graduated from East Carolina State in May, where she and Yesavage first met. They made their relationship public in December 2023.

Yesavage dominated on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings at Dodger Stadium, allowing Toronto to take a 3-2 lead in the series.

His performance included 23 swings and misses, setting a record for the most by a pitcher in a World Series game since pitch tracking started in 2008.

“As I was walking from the bullpen to the dugout, I took a moment to look around the stadium and see all the fans,” Yesavage recalled, revealing his intent to disrupt the crowd’s energy.

He certainly did just that, helping the Blue Jays regain their World Series momentum after a tough Game 3 loss earlier in the series.

Yesavage, who was selected 20th in last year’s draft, had already shown promise by allowing only two runs in his starting appearance during the first game of the series.

To date, he has racked up 39 strikeouts in this postseason, including a standout performance in the ALDS against the Yankees. This puts him above Michael Wacha’s 2013 record for most strikeouts by a rookie in postseason history.

The next game, Game 6 of the World Series, is set to take place in Toronto’s Rogers Center on Friday, where the reigning Dodgers will face off against the Blue Jays.
