Rep. Nancy Mace's campaign to keep men out of women's spaces reveals a tragic irony.
Prompted by Delaware Democrat Sarah McBride's election to Congress, Mace (R.S.C.) last week voted to block transgender women (and therefore biological men) from entering homosexual spaces reserved for biological women. Two resolutions were submitted with this purpose. In defending her position, Mace reiterated her commitment to protecting women and their spaces.
The triumph of transgenderism is a murky puddle at the bottom of an awakened slippery slope.
Mace should be praised for fighting back against the encroachment of transgenderism.
At the same time, Mace has defended his support for same-sex marriage. “We support same-sex marriage and we voted for the Respect for Marriage Act twice,” she said. boasted on social media last week. There is great dissonance between these two positions.
What Mace doesn't seem to understand is that supporting the destruction of traditional marriage, where the functional and biological differences between men and women are the most important assets, is a framework that differentiates men and women. It means to completely reject it. It signals that biological gender differences do not matter in marriage, family, and even society.

In a society where individuals are free to discard gender differences in marriage according to their own feelings and inner perceptions of identity, they will eventually be able to completely discard embodied gender differences.
This is a clear contradiction in Mace's position on transgenderism.
By upholding the LGB framework that it is good and right to prioritize individual feelings and identities over gender differences in basic human institutions such as marriage—and of course, it is the right thing to do for men and women. This is fundamental because marriage produces children and, in turn, a family. , community, society — Mace inadvertently espouses the very same philosophical principles that completely erase the reality of biological sex.
If we can discard at will the functional differences between men and women in the realm of marriage, we can also discard them at will, freeing people from all embodied biological distinctions. .
