Troubled former NBA player Delonte West spotted stumbling through parking lot after latest arrest

The player in question, former NBA guard Delonte West, was spotted in a parking lot in Arlington, Virginia, looking pretty bad after his recent arrest.

Video obtained by TMZ Sports shows West, who played eight seasons in the NBA, including alongside LeBron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers, staggering through a parking lot in flip-flops after his arrest last week.

The 40-year-old man was arrested in Fairfax County after fleeing from police who were serving a warrant for violating the conditions of his release, according to Fox 5 DC. Officers found him and administered Narcan at the hospital, according to TMZ Sports.

This is not the first time West has been arrested by police, but a mugshot of his arrest last week caused a stir because it showed him in a mugshot that was difficult to recognize.

West, Originally from Washington DChas been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons in recent years, with NBA fans repeatedly worrying about his health as he has been seen in ill health since leaving the NBA after the 2011-12 season.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban previously had tried to have West, who played his final season with the team, undergo rehabilitation at a Florida rehab center in 2021, but West continues to struggle with substance abuse issues.

One of West’s altercations reportedly took place in January 2020, when West accused a man of pointing a gun at him. Fans and former players were all “trying to figure” how to help West in the moment, which prompted Cuban to try and help.

In 2016, West was also spotted involved in an incident outside a strip club and walking around Houston without shoes during a youth basketball game.

Fans were concerned that West was homeless after he was spotted walking on the streets in Maryland, but according to Complex, West said at the time that he wasn’t homeless.

West was a first-round draft pick by the Boston Celtics in 2004 and spent three seasons with the team before being traded to the Seattle SuperSonics. He only spent half a season there before being traded to the Cavaliers. He played two and a half seasons in Cleveland before joining the Celtics for the 2010-11 season.
