Trump Admin Spokesperson Responds Strongly to Maxwell Frost's 'Trash' Comment About ICE Being Human Traffickers

Frost Criticizes ICE, Triggering Strong Response

Maxwell Frost, a Democrat from Florida, recently criticized U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, accusing them of being involved in “human trafficking.” This statement led to a heated reaction from Tricia McLaughlin, an advisor at the Department of Homeland Security.

Protests against ICE have erupted in several cities, starting with a notable one in Los Angeles. Some Democrats have called for the closure of certain businesses as a means to “restore order.” McLaughlin rebutted Frost’s remarks during an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

“While Donald Trump’s administration oversaw extensive deportations, it’s important to understand that deportation follows a legal process. It can take a long time, often many months or even a year,” Frost stated. He argued that the current situation does not constitute proper deportation, as individuals aren’t being afforded due process.

“ICE has been acting like a rogue agency, causing fear in our communities—surprising people from unmarked vans, trapping them, and denying them a fair process. This resembles human trafficking, carting people off to other countries,” Frost continued.

In response, McLaughlin criticized Frost’s comments, suggesting they were merely attempts by self-serving politicians to gain notoriety. “These smear tactics are aimed at demonizing our dedicated ICE personnel, who are facing a significant increase—over 500%—in attacks,” she remarked.

Frost has also urged some Congressional Democrats who visited El Salvador in April to take action regarding Kilmer Abrego Garcia, a member of the MS-13 gang, whom he claims was wrongfully deported. The Trump administration previously released documents detailing evidence against him.

Abrego Garcia had been arrested in Tennessee on human trafficking charges during a traffic stop but was released in 2022 at the Biden administration’s request. He returned to the U.S. in June and is now facing federal charges in Nashville related to the earlier case.

Reports have indicated that assaults on ICE agents have surged by 500% as these officers attempt to carry out arrests of undocumented immigrants.

Frost has yet to respond to requests for further comment.
