President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday, directing his administration to dismantle the US global media agencies and six other government agencies.
The lawsuit affects USAGM's grantees and subsidiaries, including Voice of America and the Cuban Broadcasting Station.

The president previously tapped Lake Kali, a former Arizona news anchor and former Republican governor and Senate candidate, and served as senior adviser as director of the VOA for USAGM and the Federal Broadcasting Network.
USAGM and Lake released a statement On Saturday, he explained the decision to close the agency and its affiliates, highlighting some of the “worst findings,” including “a massive national security violation,” “eye-wondering self-dealing,” and “indecent spending.”
The Trump administration has accused the As Bureau of “a product that often parrots the topic of American enemies,” saying “$1 million in $1 million is being spent on fake news companies.”
Associated Press USAGM reported that it has ended its contract with Media Outlet and Reuters and Asens France Press.
A USAGM statement argued that the agency “cannot rescue it.”
“This institution, from top to bottom, is a huge corruption and burden on American taxpayers (the national security risks of this country), and is irreparably broken.
“It is unfortunate that work done by self-interested insiders in conjunction with external activist groups and radical left advocacy groups has made it impossible to reform the agency's “Trump suppression,” the statement continued. “In fact, they weren't just 'eroded Trump' institutions from political leadership. They held accountable to the institution from the Americans. ”
The agency noted that most of its staff will be placed on paid administrative leave.
Lake called the president's move “an important step towards restoring America's greatness and promoting freedom and democracy.”
Last week, the lake Posted X's video explains that USAGM under the Biden administration has won $250 million annual leases for a new Washington, DC skyscraper. She said the building was empty, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, a large fountain, Italian marble finishes and at least 26 meeting rooms.
“Here's the kicker. They already have the building they're inside,” Lake said.
“The government spent $500 million taxpayer money a year on empty buildings,” Elon Musk responded to the Lake survey.
“What's worse is that the building isn't even equipped to broadcast television or media. It costs millions of dollars,” Lake told Musk.
Trump's Executive Action also directed the dismantling of the Federal Mediation and Mediation Bureau, the Smithsonian Institute's Woodrow Wilson International Scholars Center, the Museum and Library Services Institute, the U.S. Intergency Council on Homelessness, the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund, and the Minority Business Development Agency.
Trump requested that agency leaders submit a report to the Administration within seven days to submit “full compliance with the order and explain what components or functions of the agency are legally necessary and how much is necessary.”
