Trump Administration Considering Immigration Restrictions for Members of Islamic Extremist Groups

New Immigration Plan Targeting Muslim Brotherhood and Extremist Groups

The Trump administration is reportedly working on a new plan that aims to limit both temporary and legal immigration from Muslims, particularly those connected to the Muslim Brotherhood and other extremist organizations.

Joe Edrow, the director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Agency, explained that current sections of the Immigration and Nationality Act have not been utilized effectively to assess potential immigrants. “We need to ensure that we thoroughly check these individuals,” he noted during an interview with Breitbart News.

In preparation, officials are planning to designate several Islamic organizations that are linked to the broader Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist entities. Secretary of State Marco Rubio mentioned on a radio program, “This is very much in progress. The Muslim Brotherhood has a variety of factions that must be evaluated individually.”

The Muslim Brotherhood, formed in the aftermath of World War I, seeks to establish a dictatorial regime controlled by a Caliphate, enforcing strict Islamic law on Muslim populations.

Many of its leaders are educated Muslims residing in Europe and the United States, and the group faces opposition from most Arab nations.

The Brotherhood has spawned numerous affiliated groups, which operate legally and illegally. These include terrorist organizations like Hamas, as well as various charities, advocacy centers such as mosques, and political organizations.

So far, Western governments have taken limited steps to counter the influx of Islamic migration and the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood. A recent report from the French government, highlighted by Breitbart News, suggests that the Muslim Brotherhood is effectively infiltrating French institutions and radicalizing Muslim communities while disguising their real objectives under the guise of combating “Islamophobia.”

The report indicates that since its foundation, the Brotherhood has developed a political strategy that adapts to Western societies. It describes how the organization, established in Egypt, began to expand into Europe—from Britain and Germany to nations like Belgium, Italy, and France—aiming to carry out a “Western conquest” through Islamic means, as stated by its founder, Hassan Al Banna.

According to the findings, the Muslim Brotherhood influences not only local Islamic systems but has also penetrated various government initiatives in France and throughout the European Union, cloaking its agenda with a veneer of legitimacy.

Rubio and Edrow have expressed the need to protect Americans’ legal rights while addressing the challenges posed by the political movement of the Brotherhood. Rubio noted, “These initiatives will likely face legal challenges.”

He elaborated, saying, “If a group argues they’re not terrorists, it will ultimately come down to presenting a compelling case in court. One judge can potentially halt these efforts from the bench, so we must proceed with caution.”

Currently, Rubio’s office is confronting legal action as they attempt to restrict entry for migrants who support anti-Israel sentiments.

Edrow remarked to Breitbart News, “I can’t provide a timeline, but we’ll see some reactions from the American Immigration Lawyers Association in the coming weeks, as approvals for naturalization may not be as straightforward.”

The U.S. Immigration Act incorporates various historical criteria for screening immigrants, including affiliations with totalitarian regimes. “Generally, individuals associated with Communist or other totalitarian parties are not accepted,” according to USCIS regulations.

In a related note, Edrow was asked about updating these guidelines to account for contemporary threats, including extremist Islam. He acknowledged that while communism remains a concern, the presence of former Nazi guards has significantly diminished.

“Our priority is to ensure that candidates exhibit strong moral character and contribute positively to society,” he stated.
