On Tuesday, immigration agents carried out an operation that led to the arrest of some of the most serious criminal illegal immigrants across the country. This is part of the ongoing efforts by the Trump administration to deport individuals who have committed crimes while in the U.S.
At least five men were taken into custody, each with a history of various offenses. Homeland Security stated that these individuals include Christian Breyan Aleman Riva, Jose Javier Romero Hernandez, Juan Ignacio Amaya Hernandez, Erin Edixon Ochoa Hernandez, and Manuel de Jesus Lopez Marroquin. All were apprehended during a recent sweep aimed at targeting illegal immigrants with serious criminal backgrounds.
Tricia McLaughlin, an advisor with the Department of Homeland Security, commented on the situation, stating, “Each of these men left a victim—hurt, addicted, terrifying, and even worse. The Biden administration has become blind to this issue. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, we are committed to taking these individuals off the streets. The DHS will keep arresting, detaining, and removing the most dangerous criminal illegal aliens. Americans deserve to feel safe.”
Among those arrested was Christian Breyan Aleman Riva from El Salvador.
Moreover, Jose Javier Romero Hernandez, a Mexican national, was convicted of serious crimes, including first-degree robbery and domestic assault with dangerous weapons. He faced multiple charges in Oklahoma, including threats of violence and destruction of property.
In Texas, Juan Ignacio Amaya Hernandez, also originally from Mexico, was found guilty of indecency involving a child. Elin Edicson Ochoa-Hernandez, from Honduras, was convicted of smuggling aliens in Texas, while Manuel de Jesus Lopez Marroquin, a Guatemalan citizen, faced serious charges in New Jersey for distributing heroin, along with other drug-related offenses.
The Trump administration has notably ramped up its focus on illegal immigrants with criminal histories, particularly in areas like Los Angeles. When speaking on the issue, Homeland Security Secretary Christy Noem emphasized that their operations are specifically targeting violent offenders who have been harming communities for years. “These are the people we’re going after,” she stated.
