The 13-year-old boy, battling incurable brain cancer, is about to set a Guinness world record sworn by 1,000 law enforcement agencies around the country.
Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel dreams of becoming a police officer, but entered the national spotlight when he was sworn in as a Secret Service agent by President Donald Trump before the March 4th Congressional joint session.
Daniel has already been sworn in by the 914 agency, and record-breaking dreams are near reality.
He already holds multiple records, including the most “declaration dates.”
Doctors took less than five months to a Texas boy in 2018 when he was first diagnosed with a brain tumor.
After years and many brain surgeries, he is still alive thanks to research research.
“I'm now trying to make the world a better place and doing everything to help someone with his story,” said Daniel's father, Theodis. Fox 13 Tampa Bay. “I don't know how many people can touch our stories that they may have given up on. If you believe it, you must always remain faithful and positive.”
In his latest venture, Daniel was sworn in by Sheriff Grady Judd, Polk County, Florida.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office media room was packed with teenage cheers Friday morning while he won the honor title, Fox13 reported.
“I'll come back when I was 18, move to Florida and come work for me,” Judd told Daniel. “I know I'll need to have a few votes by then, so please sign up for the vote.”
“Trust me, if you want to say something, all you have to do is tell me to say it,” Daniel replied.
The Daniels will be booked for the coming months and travel to more institutions in other states.
“Continue until you run out of gas tanks, and that's when God calls you home,” Daniel said. “The craziest thing was my 11th brain surgery, God told me I was one of his angels and I was doing God's work. With my 12th brain surgery, he gave me my wings, but he said he was going to get these back until I graduated from life.”
