Trump Alerts Europe About 'Serious Issues Ahead'

President Donald Trump expressed concern on Monday that Europe is headed in a “very bad direction,” just days after he criticized the continent for its ongoing immigration challenges and the potential “annihilation of civilization.”

Prior to intensifying his criticism, Trump mentioned that Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, faced a substantial €140 million fine imposed by the European Union, as reported by AFP.

“Europe needs to be cautious. They’re taking a lot of actions that we, well, we want to see Europe remain as it is,” Trump stated while addressing reporters at the White House.

“Things are looking bad for Europe. It’s not good, really not good for the people there. We prefer Europe to stay more or less the same.”

According to Breitbart News, these remarks from the president seemed to arise after he criticized the new U.S. national security strategy unveiled last week for being overly restrictive toward Europe. He described the dangers posed by unrestrained immigration and a frail European Union.

The strategy reiterated Trump’s push for a revival of a “Western identity” with an emphasis on U.S. priorities like countering foreign influences, curbing immigration, and addressing drug trafficking.

It warned that if the ongoing trends in Europe persist, the continent’s economic challenges might be overshadowed by the dire possibility of civilization’s collapse.

“It’s uncertain whether some European nations can maintain strong economies and militaries to be viewed as reliable allies,” the document pointed out.

This strategy, in its unusually frank tone directed at allies, stated that the Trump administration aims to instigate “resistance within European nations to their current path.”

Following the news of the fine issued to Mr. X, Musk suggested that the EU should be “abolished,” according to AFP.

Brussels reacted by labeling his remarks as “completely insane.”

In response to the fine, Trump commented, “I don’t think that’s fair,” but went on to clarify that “Mr. Elon didn’t reach out to me for assistance,” adding he would look into it more later.
