On Wednesday, Biden and Trump met in the Oval Office and began discussing plans for a peaceful transition of power when the president-elect takes his second oath of office on January 20.th.
Mr. Biden also reportedly told Mr. Trump, “Welcome home” and congratulated him on his election victory. The Democratic president added that he was “looking forward” to a “smooth transition of power” and promised to “accommodate” everything Trump needs.
“Politics is tough. A lot of times it's not a good world, but today it's a good world,” Trump said as the two leaders sat by the fireplace. “It's going to go as smoothly as possible. Thank you very much, Joe.”
Soon after, many reporters were quickly removed from the office as the rest of the meeting continued.
When Trump first arrived, First Lady Jill Biden joined her husband to greet him. Jill presented President Trump with a handwritten letter of congratulations addressed to his wife, former First Lady Melania Trump, expressing her readiness to support a smooth transition.
However, a source close to Melania recently contacted the press and said that since the Bidens are responsible for the Mar-a-Lago attack, Melania will be asking Jill, as first ladies typically do when their husbands transfer power. He said he would not meet with Biden. They ransacked and destroyed her room, closet, and office, traumatizing Melania.
