Trump and Rubio will be at the College National Football Championship: 'Wishing the best team good luck'

Trump to Attend National Championship Game

On Monday, President Donald Trump, alongside high-ranking officials from his administration, is set to attend the National Football Championship at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Earlier in the week, Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio plan to watch the University of Miami Hurricanes face off against the top-seeded Indiana University Hoosiers in what promises to be an exciting game.

Before the championship, Trump extended his congratulations to both teams, stating, “May the best team win!” It’s worth noting that he has a personal connection to the University of Miami, as his daughter, Kai, joined the school’s women’s golf team in August 2024.

A statement from the White House referred to the championship as “the crowning ending” of a season marked by commitment, sacrifice, and effort, emphasizing that college football is “a beloved, uniquely American tradition.”

“For more than 150 years, college football has been a cherished part of American culture,” it added, stressing the sport’s extensive history, regional rivalries, and its ability to unite fans across generations.

“Melania and I congratulate the Indiana Hoosiers and Miami Hurricanes on advancing to the College Football Playoff National Championship. God bless the talented players and dedicated coaches, the families who support them, and the loyal fans who cheer them on. May the best team win!” the statement concluded.

This isn’t Trump’s first experience at a college football game during his presidency; he has previously attended Army-Navy games and several College Football Playoff events. This upcoming appearance marks his third participation in the national tournament.
