Trump Announces Endorses Harmeet Dhillon For RNC Committeewoman for California

Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday endorsed lawyer Harmeet Dhillon for the Republican National Committee (RNC) seat in California.

The former president appeared on Truth Social on Wednesday afternoon, calling Dillon one of the “best lawyers” in America and saying his law firm had done a “great job” on “so many” cases. Blessed. Dillon reposted the former president’s support on Twitter and thanked him for his support. “She has been a fierce advocate of the MAGA movement and a fighter for election integrity and constitutional rights at all levels. Harmeet is a great asset to the California Republican Party and is a key candidate for re-election as California RNC Commissioner. I fully and completely support you,” Trump posted.

Last January, Mr. Dillon challenged former RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel for the job, but in a secret ballot, 111 votes went to Mr. McDaniel, 54 votes went to Mr. Dillon, and 4 votes went to entrepreneur Mike Lindell. I was defeated. Before the vote, Mr. Dillon criticized the RNC’s electoral performance under Mr. McDaniel’s leadership and argued that the former chairman should not lead for a fourth term.

McDaniel, the longest-serving party chairman since Edwin Morgan, resigned from his post in February, saying he would “respect the tradition” of change if the RNC chose another candidate.

In a statement reported by NBC News, McDaniel said: “In order to allow the candidates to choose a chairman of their choice, I have decided to withdraw from spring training in Houston on March 8th.” said in a statement. “Historically, the RNC has changed as candidates have been chosen, and it has always been my intention to honor that tradition.”

Before McDaniel’s announcement, Trump endorsed North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Michael Whatley to replace McDaniel, and announced that his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, would serve as co-chair.
