Trump Announces Tammy Bruce Joining State Department as Spokeswoman

President-elect Donald Trump will appoint Tammy Bruce, a political analyst, author, and Fox News contributor, as US State Department spokesperson.

Trump made the announcement Friday night in a post on Truth Social.

“It is my great honor to announce that Tammy Bruce will join Marco Rubio's nomination for Secretary of State as spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State,” he wrote.

President Trump praised Bruce as a “highly regarded political analyst who understood early on the power and importance of 'MAGA',” adding that she has gone from being a liberal activist decades ago to a leading conservative figure in the media. He emphasized the path he took to become a spokesperson.

“After earning a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Southern California and working as a liberal activist in the 1990s, she saw through the lies and deceptions of the radical left and quickly became one of the most powerful conservative voices on radio and television. ” he wrote.

“As one of our longest-serving news contributors, Tammy has been telling the American people the truth for more than 20 years. She brings that same strength of conviction and fearlessness to her new role as State Department spokesperson. I know it's going to bring spirit,” Trump continued.

Bruce has given several exclusive interviews to Breitbart News over the years, including with award-winning Second Amendment columnist AWR Hawkins and Breitbart News Senior Editors Rebecca Mansoor and Joel Pollack .

Indeed, when President Trump floated the idea of acquiring land in the North Atlantic in 2019, Bruce, Mansour, and Pollack alluded to China's desire to gain a “foothold in Greenland,” which is owned by Denmark. The attempt was discussed.

“For people who are actually looking at the geopolitics that has been happening since then, [Donald Trump] “Even after he became president, China continues to try to establish a foothold in Greenland,” Bruce said. “The fact is that Greenland wanted infrastructure spending on some airports. They went to Denmark, which is an autonomous territory of Denmark, and asked for money, and Denmark said, 'No.' .”

“So what did the Greenlandic leaders do? They went to Beijing and said to the Chinese, 'Will you give us money and help us build an airport?' And China was like, 'Oh, sure, as long as we have full control of the building and management,'” Bruce added.

Bruce said Denmark ultimately paid for the airport after pressure from then-Defense Secretary James Mattis.

President Trump has made Greenland an early focus of his second administration. In a Dec. 22 post on Truth Social, President Trump declared that U.S. ownership of Greenland was “absolutely necessary” for national security reasons.
