Trump announces that the US naval blockade on Iran will soon be removed as he goes to the Situation Room for a final decision.

Trump Considers Deal with Iran

On Friday, President Trump indicated that he would soon come to a “final decision” regarding a potential agreement with Iran. This deal could involve reopening the Strait of Hormuz, lifting the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports, and initiating nuclear discussions.

He expressed on Truth Social, “Iran must agree never to develop nuclear weapons or bombs. The Strait of Hormuz should be opened immediately to facilitate unhindered shipping in both directions,” outlining key conditions for the possible deal.

He also mentioned that “if there are surface mines, they would all be removed. We had used large underwater minesweepers to detonate and eliminate many of those mines.”

Furthermore, Trump stated, “Iran will promptly dismantle and/or detonate any remaining mines, which shouldn’t be many!”

He added, “Ships that were seized due to our remarkable naval blockade, which will now be lifted, may begin their journey back home.”

In a light-hearted manner, he said, “From me, your favorite president, please say hello to your spouses, parents, and families!”

The president noted that the U.S. would collaborate with Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to extract enriched uranium within the country as part of the agreement.

He mentioned, “The enriched material that is buried deep beneath the mountains—which were significantly impacted by our B2 bombers about 11 months ago, sometimes referred to as ‘nuclear dust’—will be excavated and destroyed by the U.S., in close cooperation with Iran and the IAEA.”

He concluded, saying, “No funds will be exchanged at this time. Other elements, while perhaps less critical, have been negotiated. I’ll now proceed to make a final decision in the Situation Room. Thanks for your attention to this matter!”
