On Monday, the Department of Justice released a damning letter written by Ryan Wesley Routh, the man who attempted to assassinate President Trump.

The Justice Department obtained the letter from a witness who said he found it in a box delivered to him by Routh several months before the assassination attempt, and that he only opened the box after hearing that Routh was a suspect in the attack, authorities said.

Inside the box were several handwritten letters, ammunition, and other items, including one addressed to The World, describing an assassination attempt.

“This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump and I have let you all down. I did my best and mustered all the courage I had. It's up to you to see the job done and I am offering $150,000 to anyone who can get the job done,” Routh wrote.

Investigators say they also found a book written by Rouse in 2023 titled “Ukraine's Unwinnable War: Democracy's Fatal Flaw, World Abandonment, and Global Citizenship: Taiwan, Afghanistan, North Korea, World War III, and the End of Humanity.”

The book also discusses assassinating President Trump, this time urging Iran to carry it out.

“In the book, Routh states that he 'must bear some of the responsibility for what happened.' [person] “We elected a fool to be our next president, but I am a man who can safely say I made a terrible error and lapse in judgment, and I apologize to Iran. Feel free to assassinate Mr. Trump and me for that error and for abandoning the deal,” the Justice Department document said.
