President Trump’s Upcoming Week
President Donald Trump has a packed schedule this week, featuring Cabinet meetings and discussions with the leaders of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
On Monday, Trump is set to sign a Congressional bill, with White House press secretary Caroline Levitt confirming that he will also meet with national security officials to address concerns regarding Venezuela and other matters.
Tuesday marks Trump’s ninth Cabinet meeting since resuming his presidency. Later in the day, he’ll reveal details about the Trump Account initiative in the Oval Office, which aims to give a $1,000 investment to every newborn in the United States.
On Thursday, he plans to meet with President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and President Felix Shisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to finalize a peace agreement.
Back in June, Trump previously invited both presidents to the White House along with Therese Kaikwamba, the Foreign Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Olivier Ndufungirye, Rwanda’s Foreign Minister, where the peace agreement was first signed.
This peace treaty is one of eight conflicts Trump claims to have assisted in resolving since coming back to the White House. Recent developments concerning the Russia-Ukraine situation have also progressed.
Later that Thursday, Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will attend the national Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the Ellipse, according to Levitt.
On Friday, Trump is scheduled to participate in the FIFA World Cup final draw at the Kennedy Center.
However, as noted by New York Times correspondent Katie Rogers and AI journalist Dylan Friedman, there are observations that Trump is displaying “signs of fatigue,” suggesting we might be witnessing the “reality of aging in the office.”
Levitt responded critically to Rogers on Monday. She pointed out that the same reporter had previously written an article stating that President Biden was “100 percent fine” after a trip on Air Force One and another declaring him “healthy” after undergoing a medical exam. Levitt questioned the consistency, saying, “Are you kidding me?” regarding the portrayal of Trump as unfit for office. She emphasized how accessible Trump is, noting he’s involved in meetings around the clock.
