Former President Trump is leading President Biden in Michigan, according to a new poll, showing a clear shift in support from the current White House.

The poll, conducted by pollster Glengariff Group, found that in a head-to-head election scenario, Trump would lead Biden by 8 percentage points in the state.

In a head-to-head race, 39% of respondents chose the incumbent president, while Trump received 47% support.

About 3% of Michigan respondents said they would vote for another candidate, and 11% said they were undecided.

When third-party candidates are taken into account, President Trump's lead over Biden widens to 12%.

Importantly, only 17% of respondents said Biden deserves another term as the nation's leader. 77% of respondents said they wanted someone else in the White House.

Biden previously won Michigan by 3 points in the 2020 presidential election.

Last month, the Michigan Supreme Court rejected an effort to remove Trump from the state's 2024 Republican primary ballot.

However, the Colorado Supreme Court on December 19th and the Maine Secretary of State on December 28th disqualified President Trump from participating in each state's 2024 primary elections. This disqualification under the Fourteenth Amendment relates to: Trump's alleged involvement in the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot.
