The Trump campaign announced that it had received reports that Donald Trump had received threats on his life from Iran.
The campaign argued the threat “represents a real and specific threat from Iran to assassinate Mr. Trump with the intent to destabilize and sow chaos in the United States.”
Donald Trump has received a briefing from US intelligence agencies about Iran's assassination threats, his campaign said.
The Republican presidential candidate was briefed “about real and specific threats by Iran to assassinate him in an attempt to destabilize and sow chaos in the United States,” his campaign said in a statement.
The company did not go into detail about the allegations, and it was not immediately clear whether the threats mentioned were new or had been previously reported.
The Iranian government did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but it has previously denied U.S. allegations that it is interfering in its internal affairs.
“The entire US military is watching and waiting. Iran has already tried and it didn't work, but they will try again,” Trump said on Truth Social.
Iran is threatening my life. The entire US military is watching and waiting. Iran has already taken action and it didn't work. They will try again. It's not a good situation for anyone. I am surrounded by more soldiers, guns and weapons than I've ever seen. I'm grateful to Congress for unanimously approving significant funding for the Secret Service. There were zero votes against and it's completely bipartisan. It's good to see Republicans and Democrats united on something. An attack on a former president is a death wish for the attacker.
