Trump Brought Back Manufacturing, ‘Saved the American Dream’

Sen. Jim Banks (R-IN) spoke at the American Iron and Steel Institute on Tuesday night, and how President Donald Trump saved the steel industry, and Sen. Hoosier said in a speech Tuesday night. The steel industry “emphasized how we want to ensure we can compete against the heads – every country in the world has a head.”

According to prepared remarks obtained by Breitbart News, Banks, one of the most vocal supporters of American-made steel in Congress, said, “President Trump saved the steel industry during his first term. But over the past four years, we have been backing down as the Biden administration has become blind while China and others have drilled holes in American tariffs.”

“He knows that we need to reinvigorate the trade agenda to promote investment, productivity, security and ensure that producers are treated fairly,” he added. .

The bank continues, “Trump was the first president of my life and put China on responsibility for taking our position.”

Trump announced new 25% tariffs on all steel and aluminum that enter the US from Canada and Mexico on Monday.

Hoosier's conservatives said in his first major speech since being sworn into the Senate, he hopes to further promote Trump's first American policy in the Senate. .

“He took the manufacturing industry back to Indiana and helped the hard-working Hoosiers pay. Trump saved America's dream,” Banks accused.

“The Senate is committed to doing everything we can to advance the President's first American trade agenda,” he said.

The bank serves on the Senate Banking Committee, which oversees the Department of Commerce, which promotes exports such as American steel.

He also said that rather than protecting some carefully selected companies, the plan is to strengthen the US steel industry to ensure that it remains an important part of the US economy.

“We definitely want to preserve the American steel industry, which competes head-on with any country in the world,” Banks said.

“It's not enough to support some major companies for several years. Even if the deal looks good on paper, it's not going to protect Hoozy's steel work in the future,” he added. I did.
