Trump Calls for Department of Education to Be ‘Closed Immediately’

President Donald Trump said he hopes the Department of Education will be “closed soon,” and described it as “a big fraudulent job.”

when I asked Trump ranked the US education system 40th in comparison to other countries by reporters on how quickly the Department of Education wanted it to close, but in regards to “per student cost.” He criticized it for being ranked number one.

“Yeah, I want you to close it soon,” Trump replied. “Look, the Ministry of Education is a big fraud job. We are ranked – they ranked the top 40 countries in the world. We are ranked 40, but 1 Ranked #1 in two categories, per student costs, so we spend more per student than any other country in the world, but we are ranked 40th. We were between 38 and 40 and the last time we saw it was 38. At number 40.”

“Norway, Denmark, Sweden, I hate to say that. China is big and ranks in the top five,” Trump continued. “It's a major competitor. We're ranked 40th. So if we're ranked 40th, that means something is really wrong, right?”

Trump continued to say the US government should send education back to the state. “I say I'll send it back to Iowa, Idaho and Colorado.”

“There are probably 35 states, perhaps 37 states, and Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden,” Trump added. “They're just as good.”

Trump has previously said he wants to close the Department of Education and bring education back to the state's hands.

Nick Gilbertson of Breitbart News previously reported that Trump recently proposed to lead his candidate, Linda McMahon, the Department of Education, to involve the department and let him “get out of work.”

“What I want to do is have the state run the school,” Trump said in response to a reporter asking why McMahon appointed McMahon to lead the Department of Education if he wants to remove it. Ta. “I strongly believe in school choices, but on top of that, I want the state to run the schools. I want Linda to put herself out of work.”
