Trump Accuses Democrats of Leaking Pentagon Report

President Donald Trump has raised allegations against congressional Democrats, claiming they were behind the leak of a preliminary Pentagon intelligence assessment. This assessment suggested the damage from a U.S. attack on Iranian facilities was not as extensive as initially reported. Trump has even hinted at potential legal actions in response to the leak.

“The Democrats are the ones who leaked the information on the PERFECT FLIGHT to the Nuclear Sites in Iran. They should be prosecuted!” Trump posted on Truth Social.

The leaked document from the Defense Intelligence Agency, which Trump insists only reflected an early evaluation, reportedly stated that Iran’s nuclear capabilities were set back by “months.” This runs counter to statements made by the 47th president on June 21, the day of the strikes.

“Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success,” Trump declared. “Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed that a criminal investigation involving both the Pentagon and the FBI is currently ongoing. He referred to the leaked document as a “restrike report,” which was meant for internal use to evaluate potential additional actions against Iran’s nuclear sites.

In a Wednesday statement, CIA Director John Radcliffe underscored the severity of the strikes, asserting that credible intelligence supports significant damage to Iran’s nuclear program as a result of the targeted actions. He noted that this information comes from a source considered historically reliable.

“This includes new intelligence from a historically reliable source/method indicating that several key Iranian nuclear facilities were destroyed and would need to be rebuilt over several years,” Ratcliffe’s comments elaborated.

Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, also affirmed Trump’s remarks, arguing that the nuclear facilities were indeed destroyed rather than just “severely damaged,” a point also made by Ratcliffe.

“New intelligence confirms what @POTUS has stated numerous times: Iran’s nuclear facilities have been destroyed. If the Iranians chose to rebuild, they would have to rebuild all three facilities (Natanz, Fordow, Esfahan) entirely, which would likely take years,” she tweeted.
