Trump Claims U.S. Military Goals in Iran Almost Achieved
In a televised address on Wednesday night, President Donald Trump shared that the U.S. military is nearing its major objectives in Iran and suggested that, within weeks, Iran could be “back in the Stone Age.”
The announcement, part of an update on Operation Epic Fury, highlighted the United States’ progress in dismantling Iran’s navy and air force, neutralizing its missile capabilities, and halting its pursuit of nuclear weapons while curtailing its support for terrorism.
He emphasized, “As we made clear at the start of Operation Epic Fury, our goals are straightforward.” Trump pointed out that the aim is to systematically weaken any capacity Iran has to threaten the U.S. or extend its influence beyond its borders.
Continuing, he stated: “This means eliminating Iran’s now utterly destroyed navy, significantly damaging its air force and missile program, and wiping out its defense manufacturing. I’ve accomplished that. Their navy is gone, their air capabilities are lost, and their missile resources are nearly depleted. All these actions combined would neutralize Iran’s military, undermine its ability to support terrorist proxies, and prevent it from developing nuclear weapons. Our military performance has been unmatched.”
He expressed satisfaction, noting, “I’m happy to report that these essential objectives are close to completion.” As he acknowledged the progress made, he paid tribute to the 13 American service members who lost their lives in this effort to protect future generations from an Iranian nuclear threat.
On Tuesday, Trump indicated that U.S. troops could exit Iran in the next two to three weeks, adding on Wednesday that actions aimed at rendering Iran “back to the Stone Age” would occur in that same timeframe.
“Thanks to our advancements, I can assure you tonight that we’re on track to fulfill all of America’s military goals very shortly, very soon. We’re going to strike them hard in the coming weeks and bring them back to where they ought to be,” he concluded.
