Trump claims 'no one has contacted me' regarding a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell, he 'declined' visit to Jeffrey Epstein's 'Pedophile Island'

Trump on Epstein and Maxwell

In a recent statement, President Trump clarified that he was never approached to grant leniency to Ghislaine Maxwell, who has been linked to the late Jeffrey Epstein. He also disclosed that he declined an invitation to visit Epstein’s notorious private island.

Maxwell, at 63, spoke with Justice Department officials over two days last week, indicating her lawyers inquired about numerous individuals associated with her, particularly concerning her time at a Manhattan prison where she was held before her sentencing.

There’s speculation that Maxwell might be trying to cut her 20-year sentence through cooperation, but Trump mentioned during a briefing at Turnberry Resort in Scotland that he hadn’t received any requests from her legal team regarding a pardon.

“No one approached me. No one asked me about it,” he noted.

Maxwell’s attorney expressed hopes that Trump, known for making deals, would consider using his pardon power wisely.

Interestingly, Trump and Epstein were on friendly terms from the 1990s until the early 2000s, a relationship that soured after Epstein allegedly wronged people associated with Trump’s businesses.

“I didn’t talk to Jeffrey Epstein for years because he did something inappropriate,” Trump explained.

He further claimed he has never visited Epstein’s island, known as Little St. James, insisting, “I refused it. Many people in Palm Beach were invited, but I didn’t want to go.”

Despite ongoing discussions around the Epstein situation, Trump seemed to downplay its significance, labeling it a “hoax built beyond proportion” and suggesting the investigation was manipulated by what he referred to as “the worst scum on the planet,” including former FBI Director James Comey and President Biden.

When asked about reports of his name appearing in the investigation files, Trump dismissed the validity of such claims, asserting that “they can easily put something in a fake file.”

In a related development, Attorney General Pam Bondi made headlines in February when she hinted that a “client list” related to Epstein was about to be released, also mentioning the presence of disturbing materials found on Epstein’s property that she promised would never see the light of day.
