Trump criticizes Bill Maher as a 'complete, total loser' in a lengthy Truth Social message

In a lengthy post on Truth Social, President Trump unleashed a fervent critique of Bill Maher, labeling the comedian a “complete, total loser” and a “sleazebag.” This response came after Maher remarked that Trump had the lowest approval rating of any midterm candidate and joked about their recent dinner lasting longer than Katie Zacharia’s time as press secretary.

Trump, 77, took aim at Maher’s HBO show, which he claimed has lost its appeal, stating, “Let’s talk about this COMPLETE AND TOTAL LOSER, Bill Maher. He’s got a Low Rated Show on equally Low Rated HBO, which was once, long ago, a Network of Quality and Excitement — But that’s all gone.” He went on to say that his post was the longest he has ever shared, spanning 1,322 words.

During his rant, Trump also criticized Chuck LaBella, a producer who has collaborated with Maher in the past. He recounted how LaBella once worked on his own show, “The Apprentice,” and claimed that it helped build many careers, including his own. “The Success of the Apprentice was so great that everyone partook,” he noted, even adding that LaBella relayed to him how much Maher supposedly respected him.

Trump continued by mentioning his interactions with Maher, asserting that he had agreed to meet with the comedian but never intended to appear on his show, which Maher allegedly desires. He countered Maher’s claim about his approval ratings by referencing a CNN poll that purportedly showed overwhelming support for him within the Republican Party.

Turning to Maher’s previous attendance at two White House dinners, Trump shared his impression that Maher had seemed insecure and even looked like he had been in some sort of fight during their first meeting. “He had a seriously bruised eye and nose area, as though somebody had just beaten him up — But it wasn’t me!” Trump claimed.

He mentioned that Maher had “invited himself” to the dinners and came across as nervous. Trump described the more recent dinner with Kid Rock and Stephen A. Smith, asserting Maher “looked like hell” and seemed intoxicated. He expressed mixed feelings about the meetings, saying, “Overall, I thought it was a good meeting” but quickly added that he felt it was ultimately a waste of time.

In a twist, he suggested that Maher is not an honest individual and has to cater to a base that he described as “mostly composed of Losers.” Trump also touched upon Maher’s commentary regarding potential changes in the White House press pool, clarifying, “I am not building a swimming pool in the White House Briefing Room, and never had any intention of doing so.”

Trump insisted that Maher had lied about illegal voting in California and concluded his post by challenging Maher and LaBella not to reach out to him again. “You’re also a coward who is afraid to tell the truth about how well our Country is running…” he added, bemoaning the state of current political discourse. Trump finished his lengthy criticism with his typical sign-off, thanking readers for their attention.

Interestingly, Factbase confirmed that Trump’s post marked the longest he has ever published on social media, surpassing his prior lengthy entry by more than 600 words. Maher has yet to respond, but he playfully acknowledged their dinner in a monologue, stating, “Yeah I did it again bitches.”

Notably, just two days before his intense diatribe, Trump had described the dinner as “great” and said it had been very informative, suggesting a more positive viewpoint on his experience with Maher.
