Trump Criticizes Democrats Over Epstein Files During Scotland Trip
President Donald Trump has criticized Democrats regarding the Epstein Files while playing golf in Turnbury, Scotland. Some of his supporters voiced concerns after Attorney General Pam Bondy mentioned that she was waiting for the release of the files, only to later clarify that there was nothing to disclose. Trump called the allegations concerning the files a “Democrat hoax.”
In response to a reporter’s question about whether he was aware of any mention of his name in relation to the Epstein case, Trump said, “Well, I wasn’t very interested. You know. It’s a hoax built beyond proportion.”
He asserted, “These files were run by these people and by my enemies. If there was anything there, they would have used them for elections.” Trump went on to point fingers at former FBI Director James Comey, former Attorney General Merrick Garland, and President Joe Biden, claiming they had all been involved in handling the files over the years.
Trump added, “If they had anything, I think they’d have released it. It’s all a hoax!” He then mentioned a report by the Wall Street Journal about a letter he allegedly sent to Epstein, which he denied ever writing.
Continuing, Trump referenced his 2016 presidential campaign against Hillary Clinton, claiming that if there were any incriminating information, it would have been leaked. He also echoed sentiments regarding the misuse of documents in a separate investigation into Russian interference in U.S. politics.
In addition, Trump stated he would not support those who purchase “hoologies” related to the Epstein Files. In light of some backlash, he instructed Bondi to seek the release of testimonial evidence from the Epstein investigation. However, a judge threw out the request, citing existing court rules.
Currently, Trump is on a four-day personal trip in Scotland.
