President Trump Provides Exclusive Look at White House Ballroom Project
President Donald Trump is showcasing the White House Ballroom project, highlighting its innovative design and its purpose as a secure venue for official events. He described it as a gift to the American people, funded by patriots, with the capacity to host around 2,000 guests, aiming to safeguard future leaders.
Moreover, Trump has raised concerns over possible interference with the $400 million ballroom and rooftop drone base. He specifically criticized U.S. District Judge Richard Leon for bowing to what he calls “serial plaintiffs” and “ridiculous lawsuits” that he believes threaten national security.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump declared the drone port being constructed in the ballroom as potentially the most advanced in the world, emphasizing its role in protecting Washington, D.C., long term. He urged Judge Leon to dismiss a lawsuit stemming from a “very litigious woman,” asserting that the judge would be responsible if there were any attacks on the White House.
Trump warned, “If something occurs, we’ll bear the responsibility for the damage inflicted on our nation,” referring to what he claims is unnecessary disclosure of sensitive information due to lawsuits. He insisted that the case should be rejected, emphasizing that modern threats require stronger defenses than what rifles and pistols can provide.
The urgency for enhanced security comes on the heels of the Justice Department pushing for Judge Leon to lift an injunction that’s holding up parts of the project, especially following a shooting incident near the White House checkpoint.
Trump noted the importance of the ballroom project, which will feature a rooftop drone base and an underground military complex. He expressed that it is essential for hosting sizeable events safely, as the existing spaces are inadequate.
Legally, Leon had stated back in April that Trump could not proceed with plans for a banquet hall without Congressional approval. However, an appeals court allowed construction to advance temporarily, even as the legal dispute continues, initiated by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, which insists on pursuing the case despite recent security concerns.
During a recent tour, Trump detailed that the ballroom’s roof would be constructed to be militarily robust, designed to endure direct attacks. He reiterated that the roofing will be resilient even to drone impacts, stressing its protective capabilities for the capital.
In his estimation, this nearly 90,000-square-foot ballroom would significantly enhance event capacity at the White House. The White House is asserting that safety measures like titanium fencing, reinforced roofs, and specialized glass will be incorporated into the design.
Currently, Judge Leon has yet to make a decision regarding the Justice Department’s appeal to rescind the injunction and dismiss the ongoing lawsuit.
