Donald Trump took to social media on Monday morning to criticize Zoran Mamdani. He claimed that Mamdani would face “issues with Washington like the mayor from our city’s past.” Trump suggested that Mamdani requires funds from him as president to back up what he labeled as his “false communist promises.”
Trump further asserted that Mamdani could become “one of the best things that have happened to our great Republican party.”

In a post from True Society, Trump reiterated, “Zoran Mamdani, a communist candidate for mayor in New York City, proves to be one of the best things we’ve done for our Republican Party. He faces challenges with Washington just like a mayor from a once-great city. He requires funds from me as president to realize his false promises. Without that support, why would anyone vote for him? This ideology has historically failed and will surely fail once again!”
Meanwhile, New York City Mayor Eric Adams has suspended his campaign as of Sunday.
According to NBC News, Adams said he has ended his third-party bid for reelection, thereby reducing the competition for the upcoming election in November. In a video announcement, he mentioned, “Despite all we’ve accomplished, I can no longer pursue my reelection campaign.”
Now, there’s curiosity about how Adams’ exit will influence the mayoral election in the largest city in America. Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who is also running as a third-party candidate, commented that he believes the happiness of New Yorkers should be aligned with personal ambitions.
