President Trump defended Supreme Court Judge Amy Connie Barrett and called her a “very good woman” if she broke with conservatives on some issues.
“She's a very good woman. She's very smart, and I don't know about the people attacking her, I really don't know,” Trump told reporters on Sunday. “I think she's a very good woman. She's very intelligent.”
Barrett recently fired fire after voting to reject Trump's attempt to freeze foreign aid.
The Supreme Court in the 5-4 emergency ruling has decided not to halt the judge's decision to order the Trump administration to immediately release nearly $2 billion in foreign aid, as it has an existing contract.
Barrett was joined by Chief John Roberts and three Liberal parties, court, to make a decision.
She was appointed by Trump to the Supreme Court during his first term and was defeated by conservatives on several issues.
Barrett has been criticised recently over her ruling, but Trump tried to tamper with concerns by highlighting his ability to ride in Air Force 1 on Sunday.
The emergency ruling comes as the Trump administration attempted to dismantle various federal agencies, including the United States International Development Agency (USAID).
