President Donald Trump defended the use of power that comes with the presidential office, denying that he was “expanding” it, claiming he was “using it properly.” Interview His first 100 days as the 47th president time.
Trump, who served his second term of 100 days on April 30th, gave an extensive bomb interview with the outlet from the White House on Wednesday.
The interview began with a pointed question from time Senior political correspondent Eric Corteressa and editor-in-chief Sam Jacobs asked, “Why do you think you need more strength?”
“Well, I don’t think I’m expanding it. I think I’m using it because I used it,” Trump replied. “We feel that we have made a successful presidency in 100 days. We have to say to those writing it, it was the best first month, the best third month, and the best third month.
The president said his widely publicized actions had an impact on international trade associated with tariffs and used his power to reset the “table.”
As you know, you’re resetting the table. We lost $2 trillion a year in trade, but you can’t do that. So, at some point, someone has to come along and stop it. Because it’s not sustainable. We were carrying other countries to our backs with trade numbers and horrifying numbers, but we changed that. The market fluctuates quite a bit.
The journalist asked him to answer “directly about Taku.”[ing] Parliamentary powers on trade and budgets. ”
“You fired the head of an independent institution. You know, you’re now challenging the courts. You’re using government levers to undermine private institutions like law firms and universities,” the interviewer said. “Is this not focused on the presidency, taking power from the institutions?”
“No, I think what I’m doing is exactly what I’ve been campaigning,” Trump said.
The president continued to promote his control over the immigration system that was left to be broken by the previous Biden administration.
For example, if you look at what I campaigned for, you can talk about taking people out of the country. Biden allowed people to enter through his open border crazy, madness, so we have to do it. He allowed people to come to our country, which we cannot do in our country. Many criminals – they have empty prisons, many countries, almost every country, but not completely empty, but some have completely empty the prison system. But you look at the world, and I’m not only talking about South America, but all over the world. People were led to our very dangerous country. If you’re walking down the street and you happen to be near these people, they can kill you and they won’t even think about it. And we cannot have it in our country.
The interviewer asked, “So you’re not focusing more on the president?”
“I don’t think so. I think I’m using it properly, and I’m using it according to my election,” Trump replied. “You know, everything I’m doing. This is what I’ve talked about what I do. I said I’m going to move criminals.”
It mentions Trump’s recent order For investigation of former Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Director Christopher Krebs – he was fired for release statement Claiming the 2020 presidential election is “the safest in American history,” and condemns “basic claim” that Joe Biden was not the real winner – time Reporters asked, “That’s not the case, but what was your accusation of Biden of you?”
Trump clearly replied, “I think Chris Krebs was a dishonorable to our country… I think he’s terrible.”
“By the way, I don’t know him. I don’t. I don’t think I’ve seen him. I’ve probably seen him,” he added.
Trump also called Krebs “fraud” and “stigma,” ordered an investigation and removed remaining security clearances that the former CISA director might have had earlier this month.
“He said this was the safest election we’ve ever had, but even so, you read about the scams you’ve found in papers every day,” he said from the oval office that signed the note. “He’s a scam. He’s a disgrace. So we’ll look into whether it’s a safe election. If so, he has a big price to pay and he’s a bad guy.”
Note Krebs described him as “an important bad faith actor who weaponized and abused government authority.”
Continuing the interview, time “You used threats and litigation, other forms of coercion –“
“Well, I have to do something right because a lot of law firms have given me a lot of money,” Trump replied.
The interviewer asked, “Why is it a proper use of the presidential force?”
“Well, I think it’s because they felt the elections were consolidated and stolen and didn’t want to be a part of it. I don’t think they gave me $100 million each. You know these law firms gave me $100 million worth of jobs and stuff like that, Trump asked.
“I don’t think so. They knew they were wrong and didn’t want to get involved in it, so they gave it to me. And it’s okay. That’s a shame, that’s how it works,” the president said.
The interviewer said, “But do you think it’s a proper use of the presidential forces? … threats and EO to law firms.”
“They pay. These are the top companies in the world. These are the biggest and the best,” Trump said.
