Trump Accuses Soros of Supporting Violent Protests
In recent comments, President Donald Trump has directed accusations toward billionaire donor George Soros and his son, Alex Soros, alleging their involvement in funding violent protests across the nation.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated: “George Soros and his amazing radical, surviving son should be charged with Rico for their support of violent protests and other things across the United States.”
The RICO Act, which stands for the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, targets organized crime, historically applied in mafia prosecutions.
At 95, George Soros is the founder of the Open Society Foundations (OSF), a network built on financial contributions from left-leaning philanthropists. Recently, Alex Soros married Huma Abedin, the former wife of ex-Congressman Anthony Weiner.
As reported by a source, OSF is “partially funded” by the courts and has connections to a controversial rally associated with a detained individual. The foundations received approximately $1.6 million for grants from 2018 to 2022.
Open Society Foundations were among the first to advocate for human rights, even participating in legal actions against the Trump administration regarding deportation orders. They also allocated nearly $6.2 million towards various initiatives and contributed $13.7 million to the Tides Center, which reportedly supported anti-Israel demonstrations.
Trump reiterated his stance on social media, saying, “I’m not going to allow these madmen to tear America apart. I’ll never give them the opportunity to ‘breathe’ and be free. Soros and his group of psychopaths have done a lot of damage to our country! Beware, we’re watching you!”
A spokesperson for Open Society Foundations responded to these claims, labeling them “outrageous falsehoods” and emphasizing that the organization does not support or fund violent protests.
“We represent the fundamental freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution, including freedom of speech and the right to peaceful protest, which are characteristic of vibrant democracy,” the spokesperson mentioned.
