Trump Criticizes Biden Policies on Police Memorial Day
On Monday, former President Donald Trump voiced strong criticism of Joe Biden’s administration, stating that it has allowed criminals to infiltrate the country. This announcement coincided with the observance of Peace Officer’s Memorial Day and Police Week.
Continuing a tradition that spans over six decades, Trump declared Peace Officers’ Memorial Day on the upcoming Thursday, marking May 15th as a day to honor fallen officers. He also designated this week as National Police Week, a celebration that lasts from Saturday through Sunday.
In his declaration, Trump emphasized the bravery of law enforcement officers and paid tribute to those who lost their lives defending the thin blue line. He claimed that current policies under the Biden administration, which he described as “reckless” and “soft on crime,” are making it increasingly difficult for police to perform their duties.
The president lamented, “The Chaos Land will stop becoming a fortress of Freedom. Tragically, the previous administration has allowed lawlessness to penetrate our country.” He asserted that these policies have emboldened criminals, causing disruption in homes, businesses, and public spaces.
Trump reiterated his commitment to making America safe again, highlighting the need for fortified borders and a restored rule of law in communities nationwide.
Furthermore, he vowed to utilize all available resources to ensure officers are well-equipped and properly trained. He mentioned a focus on merit-based recruitment to retain qualified officers.
In addition, Trump urged Congress to formalize an executive order that mandates the death penalty for those who kill police officers, along with increased protections for law enforcement. He expressed solidarity with those who defend freedom and extended condolences to families mourning fallen officers.
As part of the observance, the governor has been asked to direct the American flag to be flown at half-staff on Thursday, while Trump called on all Americans to participate in National Police Week with appropriate rituals and activities.
