The operation is scheduled to run from August through mid-November. Additionally, it has been indicated that “the military will remain under the governor’s command.”

The Fox article elaborates on the operations.

Mobilized National Guard personnel will act as visible deterrents while providing support for broad federal interagency efforts, according to the U.S. Secretary of Defense. The service members assisting ICE will be involved in case management, transportation, logistics support, and administrative actions linked to handling illegal immigrants at facilities. “This may include collecting personal data, fingerprints, DNA samples, and photographs of detainees,” officials stated.

Reports indicate that violent crime in Washington, DC dropped by 22% last week as President Trump tackles concerns related to the capital, according to Breitbart News.

“These figures were recorded during the week when President Donald Trump unveiled a set of enforcement measures aimed at addressing challenges in the capital, which includes invoking Section 740 of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act to directly place the DC Metropolitan Police Department under federal oversight and refreshing the National Guard,” the outlet noted.

This news follows a string of violent incidents in D.C., including the tragic shooting of a young council intern on June 30.

Recently, Trump’s administration has been targeting the expulsion of around 400,000 undocumented immigrants in his first year, as reported by Breitbart News on Thursday.
