Trump dismisses claims about the US considering a $30B nuclear deal with Iran: 'These people are SICK'

President Trump has indicated that his administration is considering a $30 billion agreement with Iran.

In a statement, he dismissed claims circulated by the media regarding the deal, saying, “It’s a twisted narrative, suggesting that I’m offering Iran $30 billion for a non-military nuclear facility. I’ve never heard of such nonsense.” He shared this sentiment on his social media platform late last week.

He described the news as another “hoax” propagated by the media, expressing frustration with what he sees as misinformation.

This potential agreement was first mentioned by news outlets, citing multiple sources familiar with the discussions. Details emerged about the proposal, reportedly outlined during a secret meeting last week involving Steve Witkoff, the US special envoy to the Middle East, and partners from the Gulf states.

The plan was reportedly introduced just before the US carried out strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities in Foudau, Natanz, and Isfahan.

Earlier, Trump suggested that the White House had applied sanctions on Iran which he believed helped to “eliminate” the nation’s nuclear capabilities. He also referred to comments made by Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, who declared his country was “winning.”

In a post, Trump mentioned he had been exploring options for lifting sanctions, adding that in response, he faced expressions of anger instead of gratitude.

He argued that the US had spared Khamenei from a dire fate, in light of Israel’s role in the region. Trump claimed, “His country was devastated, several key nuclear sites were removed, and while I knew where he was, I chose not to end his life.”

Reports have emerged concerning the recent US airstrike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, suggesting that damage incurred might only delay Tehran’s program by a few months. Nevertheless, both Israel and the Trump administration assert that the impact was substantial.

Trump is advocating for a delicate ceasefire between Israel and Iran, expressing belief that the airstrike has hindered Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

“From my perspective, a dialogue has taken place. They received a message about nuclear intentions. We will likely pursue a further agreement,” he noted after the NATO summit in the Netherlands. “But I doubt they will follow through.”

He also alerted Tehran that he remains open to conducting further strikes if necessary.
