Trump DOJ Joins Case Against UCLA over Antisemitism on Campus

The Trump administration has joined the fight against anti-Semitism at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and has participated in the ongoing lawsuit filed by Jewish students in federal court by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

The lawsuit filed last summer comes after UCLA tolerated and, in a way, tolerated a radical anti-Israel “camp” that picked up Jewish students for abuse (violating the civil rights of others on campus).

Several Jewish UCLA students have taken private legal action against UCLA and sought an injunction that would force the university to protect civil rights. Biden Dozi sat on the sidelines, but Trump Dozi took part.

At a press conference on Tuesday, DOJ It's attracting attention:

The federal task force fighting anti-Semitism has announced that it has been submitted by the Department of Justice Statement of Interest The Central District of California will advance appropriate interpretations of federal laws that prohibit universities and universities from discriminating against students due to their religion or national origin. The statement of interest is part of the Task Force's national effort to combat anti-Semitism in all forms.

According to the claim Frankel et al. v. Regent et al. of the University of California.in the spring of 2024, administrators of the University of California System allowed members of the protest camp to prevent students and faculty at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from accessing parts of the UCLA campus.

The plaintiff is a Jewish student and a Jewish professor at UCLA, claiming that the university acted in concert with the protest camp or allowed protests, preventing access to adjacent classrooms and libraries based on the Jewish faith or national origin, based on Jewish faith or national origin. The US interest statement appeals to the plaintiff's allegations that the defendant administrator violated Title VI and Equality Protection Clause.

DOJ Submit State, part:

As already discovered by the court when it ordered a preliminary injunction against the defendant on August 13, 2024: “In 2024, Jewish students were excluded from part of the UCLA campus in the United States, California and the city of Los Angeles.[.] UCLA will not object to this. ” …UCLA may not dispute that UCLA's anti-Semitic campus environment is “unimaginable” and “abhorrent” last year, but individual defendants have moved to dismiss the case and avoid liability for what happened on campus they are supposed to lead and protect.

Furthermore, as explained in the White House Executive Order on Additional Measures to Fight Anti-Semitism, using all available and appropriate legal tools to hold the perpetrators of illegal anti-Semitic harassment and violence to prosecute, remove or explain the perpetrators of illegal anti-Semitic harassment and violence is a policy that is actively opposed to anti-Semitism.

Los Angeles Times Quote A UCLA spokesman said the university is “committed to eradicating anti-Semitism.” The university is fighting lawsuits because it says it's not responsible for the anti-Semitism in its camp. Additionally, the administration is under pressure from left-wing teachers who filed lawsuits in an attempt to shut down Israeli criticism.

President Trump has launched the Federal Anti-Semitism Task Force under the leadership of civil rights lawyer Leo Terrell. Currently, we are investigating 10 universities, including UCLA.

President Joe Biden did not take on such action despite what was assumed to be an anti-Semitism “strategy.” Former Attorney General Merrick Garland and former DOJ Civil Rights Chief Kristen Clark were virtually silent about anti-Semitism on campus.
