On Tuesday, President Trump was seen enjoying one of his favorite pastimes—music. He played tracks such as Prokol Halm’s “White Tints” and Elvis’s “Are You Lonesome Tonight?” from the new White House patio while reporters looked on.
The president, known for his love of classic tunes, tested the sound system in the refurbished Rose Garden, gearing up for what Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt called “the best event in White House history.”
Leavitt hinted that the gathering would occur soon, indicating that construction was almost finished.
Among the songs on Trump’s playlist were Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful” and Luciano Pavarotti’s dramatic aria “Nessun Dorma” from the opera “Turandot.”
As he played the music, Trump briefly emerged from the West Wing, pumping his fist at the assembled press but opting not to comment. Footage of the moment was captured by journalist Daniel Baldwin.
The newly updated Rose Garden features a white stone patio adorned with white wrought iron tables and yellow-striped umbrellas.
“They’re literally Mar-a-Lago umbrellas,” Leavitt commented, adding, “The roses remain untouched.”
She mentioned that the president proposed the first official White House event on the new patio might be for the media, playfully noting, “He said, ‘Maybe we’ll do that.'”
Beyond the Rose Garden renovations, Trump plans to give the White House a makeover that reflects his personal style and enhances functionality. His vision includes a redesigned Oval Office featuring gold accents reminiscent of Mar-a-Lago, along with plans for a large ballroom in the East Wing.
