Trump expresses sorrow for victims of NYC Midtown shooting: ‘Meaningless act of violence’

President Trump expressed sorrow over the tragic loss of four individuals who were shot during a violent incident at a large office building in Midtown on Monday night.

“I’m seeing reports of a tragic shooting in Manhattan,” he noted. “Our law enforcement is working hard to understand why this disturbed individual committed such senseless acts of violence. My thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives, including the NYPD officer who made the ultimate sacrifice.”

Authorities have identified the shooter as 27-year-old Shane Tamra, who was involved in the fatal shooting of NYPD officer Didalur Islam.
